Deep South Taco is a Buffalo-born, Southern-inspired authentic taqueria and bar with that Nashville funky edge. Currently partying with two locations: Ellicott Street, downtown Buffalo, and Hertel Avenue, North Buffalo. Plans have Deep South Taco growing soon to other states and areas.
Multi starred Chef Richard Hamilton's menu, inspired by the authentic Mexican food he cooked as a 'breather' to his fine dining life, wanting friends and family to have fun, is complemented by an extensive house-selected single barrel bourbon program, exceptional tequilas and crafty fun cocktails. Downtown, we have a cool all glass Bourbon and Tequila room. Our soundtrack of fun - classic country and rock and roll is played on vintage Macintosh gear and the vibe changes regularly.
Capitalizing on the beauty of Buffalo's warmer months each Deep South Taco has an outside patio and bar. Signature yellow garage doors open into a funky and hip space where there are cool booths and communal areas. At our downtown Buffalo location, stairs lead to the third floor where our rooftop cabanas offer a completely different experience with city views. Recently our downtown location added custom wood grills that guests can reserve and cook their own premium menu from steaks to seafood and more. Its called 'Fired Up' and the rooftop has its own grill for groups. In the cooler winter months we add igloos outside and use the grills as fire pits and feature s'mores and hot chocolates.
The name Deep South Taco is a nod to Richard's heritage and his love of the south. He was born in Oklahoma, lived in Nashville and worked in many other areas of the south, where his passion for the very best food began. Deep South Taco serves the same food he loves to cook for family and friends. Our menu varies from traditional Mexico City and Oaxaca tacos to our world-renowned Award-Winning nachos, signature fun tacos, mouthwatering oversized burritos and giant foods to be shared as a group.
